Development and Outreach Coordinator
Location: Ely, MN / Northeast Minnesota
Reports to: Executive Artistic Director and Board
Position type: Part-time, Salaried (Exempt), 15 hours per week on average
Salary: $15,000
Contract: 12 months with the possibility of extension to a more permanent
role.

The Development and Outreach Coordinator will play a pivotal role in expanding
Northern Lakes Arts Association (NLAA)’s reach and capacity. The coordinator will
strengthen the foundation of NLAA’s programming and ensure sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Administration support
● Assist the Executive Artistic Director (EAD) with marketing communications.
● Assist the EAD with fundraising campaigns.
● Assist the EAD with data entry and analytics.
Program coordination
● Assist with NLAA programming, including managing registrations, tabling/box
office support, and other programmatic initiatives.
● Provide logistical support for programming.
Community outreach
● Train and manage volunteers for programming.
● Maintain schedules and ensure effective communication.
● Organize volunteer and community appreciation initiatives.
● Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
● Demonstrated experience building, managing, and nurturing strong relationships
with donors, foundations, and businesses.
● Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
● Attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and ability to prioritize and
manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
● Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
● Persistence in donor outreach, meeting new people, and making cold calls.
● Proficiency in database management, with a preference for experience in
EveryAction, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite. Other computer skills as
required.
● Commitment to DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) principles in carrying out the
organization's mission.
● Relevant degree and experience.
● Experience managing fundraising initiatives.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
●Highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities.
● Comfortable with public speaking and community engagement.
● Knowledge of the Ely and Northeast MN arts communities is a plus.
Requirements:

● Ability to travel to events within Ely
● Willingness to work nights, weekends, and long hours that align with industry
standards in the arts and culture sector.
Position Benefits
● Remote flexibility: The coordinator can work remotely while attending in-person
events and meetings as necessary.

● Flexible hours: Summers will require more hours per week than winters,
allowing for seasonal flow and flexibility.
Working Hours
● Part-time salaried, averaging 15 hours per week.
● Flexibility is required, as some weeks may require more than 15 hours. Additional
hours worked will be offset by guaranteed time off in subsequent weeks.
● Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support events and
meetings.
